2018 GMC Canyon Power & Performance

For a light pickup truck, the 2018 Canyon offers some impressive engine options for drivers to customize the performance of their ideal pickup. The GMC Canyon base is equipped with the 3.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that’s capable of hitting 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque.

Drivers looking for more of a push can easily opt for the 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. The 2018 GMC Canyon also offers the option of the Duramax® 2.8-liter Turbo Diesel 4-cylinder engine, which tops off its horsepower at 181 but provides the highest torque output with 369 lb-ft.

Towing & Payload Abilities

Due to the varying degrees of power offered by the engine options, the towing and payload abilities of the 2018 GMC Canyon have a wide range. When outfitted with the 2.5-liter 4-cylinder, the truck can effectively tow 3,500 lbs and carry up to 1,428 lbs of payload. The 3.6-liter V6, on the other hand, doubles the towing capacity to 7,000 lbs and shows a slight increase in payload capacity with 1,462 lbs.

The Duramax® 2.8-liter Turbo Diesel shows the most power with its ability to tow 7,600 lbs and carry 1,528 lbs of payload when equipped with the GMC Canyon.

GMC Canyon Interior Features

The 2018 Canyon interior offer drivers some impressive entertainment and technology features. Using the 7-inch diagonal touchscreen, you can access your media features through either touch or the voice-activated technology. The vehicle comes with a radio, a USB port, an auxiliary jack, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, and Bluetooth® streaming and hands-free phone connectivity.

The vehicle is outfitted with a 6-speaker sound system that delivers crisp audio. Drivers have the option of including the 3-month trial subscription of SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, which provides access to more than 150 different stations of varying styles and genres.
