The 2021 Yukon XL gives off a powerful vibe, thanks to strong lines that catch the eye. This plus-sized crossover arrives in different styles and configurations, evident in its four excellent trims: the SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. If you choose the sporty AT4 trim, ideal for dirt roads, you'll access black chrome accents that add major style. All models feature the bold grille that the Yukon is known for. The Denali is the premium trim and can be upgraded with the available Open Road Package, which includes a power sunroof.
Engine (Power)
Buick understands that different lifestyles require different power requirements. As a result, the company is offering a trio of engine options, including a new 6.2-liter V-8 that delivers 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Still, the 2021 GMC Yukon XL's standard powertrain is the new 5.3-liter V-8 producing 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The third engine option is a new 3-liter Duramax LM2: a diesel design with two overhead cams and direct injection. It delivers 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Engines are equipped with stop/start technology and feature dynamic fuel management, which enhances efficiency and power. With dynamic fuel management, the motor can run on anything from two to eight cylinders, based on specific demand.
Performance
When you choose the 6.2-liter engine, you'll have the power to tow a maximum trailering weight of 8200 lbs. The 2021 GMC Yukon XL also features an available advanced suspension system. This system improves ground clearance, so you're able to overcome almost any obstacle. With this system, you can choose your preferred ride height with just the twist of a dial and the push of a button. An air ride adaptive system is also available, which adjusts suspension stiffness to ensure a smooth and pleasant ride — even on harsh surfaces.
Interior
Each model of the Yukon XL boasts sophisticated interiors. The SLT and SLE trims are crafted with fine materials and appealing accents, including aluminum details and decorative stitching. Both have leather seating surfaces in their second rows.
