CARGO SPACE AND TOWING CAPACITY
Part of the drive towards purchasing a crossover vehicle is to gain some additional space for all of your storage needs. The GMC Terrain offers 29.60 cubic feet behind the second row of seats which is enough for several carry-on sized bags or a few large suitcases. If you still require some additional space to accommodate a large bulk-item purchase, you can collapse the second row and have a total of 63.30 cubic feet.
If you find that you’re still in need of more space or if you want to make sure you get your boat wet during prime fishing season, you’ll also have the option of up to 3,500 pounds of towing capacity with conventional trailering. This means that you can take the kids bikes, additional beach chairs, or anything else you can think of for your family vacation.
ENGINE SPECS AND GAS MILEAGE
The standard engine in the GMC Terrain is a powerful 1.5L Turbo 4-Cylinder. It is capable of achieving up to 170 horsepower. With enough pep under the hood to pass slower traffic, safely merge, or tow your toys, this compact crossover should meet your needs, or maybe even exceed them.
Though mighty, the Terrain offers drivers the convenience of fuel economy. The EPA estimates that the Terrain is capable of getting up to 26 MPG on the streets of your city while offering up to 30 MPG on the open road of the highway. With a sizable number of tasks to accomplish during your weekend, you shouldn’t have to fill up the tank more than once.
AVAILABLE ADDITIONS
In the Terrain SLT level, you can count on the added convenience of remote start as a standard feature, but that’s not all. You’ll also have the comfort feature that has become hugely popular in vehicles: heated driver and passenger seats. Standard keyless entry across the board in trims adds to the convenience of this vehicle.
From the SLE trim level and up, you’ll have the option of adding several safety features to your vehicle. Many driver-assist features are available with the upper trim levels, including: Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Rear Park Assist, Forward Collision Alert, and more. The addition of these features contributes to your peace of mind when commuting to work or road-tripping.
